Yarn-dyed dark linen that fades evenly, breathes in summer and holds warmth in winter.
Please choose a size first.
Linen is the cover for people who run hot in summer and still want weight in winter: the fibre wicks, and 170 gsm has enough body to feel like a cover rather than a sheet. Charcoal is yarn-dyed, which means the colour goes through the thread and fades evenly rather than in patches.
It is scratchy for the first three or four washes, it creases more than any cotton, and like all dark cloth it shows lint. If any of those would bother you at 7 a.m., the percale is the kinder buy.

The wall depth was the whole reason I ordered. Our mattress has a topper and this is the first fitted sheet in three years that stays on the corners.
Bought a pair of pillowcases to test the cloth, then the cover a month later. Same dye lot by the look of it - no visible difference between them.
Creases exactly as the page said it would. I was told, so I cannot complain, and the cool feel is worth it in summer.

50 × 70 is the continental standard; 60 × 60 the square; 80 × 80 the large square used in Germany and Austria. Measure the pillow, not the old case.
Measure the mattress with any topper on it and buy a wall at least 5 cm deeper: 35 cm fits up to 30 cm, 42 cm fits up to 38 cm.
