All prices are in euros and include Belgian VAT at the rate in force for delivery within the European Union. Shipping is added at checkout according to the shipping page. Deliveries to the United Kingdom and Switzerland are subject to local import duty and VAT, collected by the carrier and not included in our price.
Where a price is shown struck through beside a lower one, the struck-through figure is the lowest price at which we ourselves offered that item during the 30 days before the reduction, as Belgian price-indication rules require. Reductions on this site are only ever applied to a colour on its final dye lot. We do not raise a price in order to show it reduced.
Placing an order is an offer by you to buy. We accept it, and the contract is concluded, when we email you that the order has been dispatched. Until then we may decline an order - if a piece has sold out, if a price was listed in error, or if the delivery address is one we cannot serve - and refund any payment in full within 14 days.
Cotton and linen are natural fibres. Shrinkage of 2 to 3% in a first hot wash, creasing in percale and linen, gentle fading of garment-dyed shades, occasional snags in sateen and small variations in shade between dye lots are properties of the cloth and are described on each product page. They are not defects and do not entitle you to a remedy under clause 7, although the sleep trial under clause 6 remains available.
Payment is collected at checkout by our payment provider by card, PayPal or Bancontact. Card details are entered with the provider and never pass through or rest on our systems. The demonstration version of this storefront takes no payment at all.
Delivery times are estimates in working days from dispatch. Risk in the goods passes to you when they are delivered to the address you gave. If a parcel is lost in transit we replace the order or refund it, at your choice, once the carrier confirms the loss or 15 working days have passed since dispatch, whichever is sooner.
As a consumer in the EU you may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of receiving the goods without giving a reason, under Book VI of the Belgian Code of Economic Law. We extend this to 30 days from delivery.
In addition, every piece carries a 30-night sleep trial: you may use and wash the goods during that period and still return them for a full refund of the item price. We waive any deduction for diminished value that the statutory rules would otherwise allow. You bear the cost of return postage unless the goods were faulty or not what you ordered. Refunds are made to the original payment method within 14 days of the goods reaching us, and in practice within 5 working days.
You have the two-year legal guarantee of conformity provided by Belgian and EU law. In addition, and without affecting that guarantee, we promise that any seam, hem, button, tie, envelope flap or elastic that fails within the first 300 washes will be repaired or the piece replaced at our cost, with postage paid both ways within the EU. The guarantee covers workmanship and excludes damage from sharp objects, bleach, heat, misuse, washing above 60 °C, pilling of sateen and the ordinary fading of a garment-dyed shade. The text, photographs, product names and patterns on this site belong to Sunset & Sheets BV. Every piece is cut to our own patterns under our own name, and nothing we sell carries, imitates or is offered as a version of any other company's mark, design or product.
We are liable for loss that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be excluded under Belgian law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Write to hello@sunsetandsheets.com. We acknowledge within two working days and aim to close the matter within 14. If we cannot agree, you may refer the dispute to the Belgian Consumer Mediation Service (Consumentenombudsdienst / Service de Médiation pour le Consommateur) or to the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
These terms are governed by Belgian law. The courts of Belgium have jurisdiction, without depriving you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country in which you live.
